A former work colleague of T's was in town this week so we had him over for dinner this past Tuesday. For dessert, I decided to try this recipe for lemon drizzle cake. Midway through, I was kind of caught off guard by the ground almonds, a surprise ingredient to me. Unfortunately, the last of our almonds were used for granola bars last week. I considered skipping on them but at the last second decided to substitute with ground walnuts instead. I know it's called a lemon cake but I have to say that the nuts definitely make it. I'm totally patting myself on the back for not skipping them.
